Rules

Entries

If you'd like to participate in this tournament, post an email to the list and include which of the new tribes you'd like to play as in your first game. New entries will be accepted until the end of January, 2004. Also, I'd like each player to pledge to try to get in at least one move a day.

Games

All games require the v1.12 beta patch, at least. Each game will have eight tribes on a standard map, the seven new tribes from Conquests (Byzantines, Hittites, Incans, Mayans, Dutch, Portuguese and Sumerians) and one random tribe. Each human player will decide which of the new tribes to play. If both human players choose the same tribe, then each player must choose a different tribe to play and the tribe they originally wanted will be AI. If each player's second choice is the same, then each will need to pick a third and so on...

Tournament

December 27th, I will take all the entrants for the tournament and randomly draw opponents for the first games. If there are an odd number of entrants participating in the random draw then one player will be "placed on hold". If any player joins the tournament after the draw, they will be either placed on hold or paired with the player currently on hold. There will never be more than one player on hold at any time.

As each game concludes, the match result is posted to the list by the winner. The loser of the game is eliminated from the tournament. The winner goes on to be paired with the player currently on hold or is placed on hold. The tournament continues until only one player is left undefeated.

If the AI achieves a victory condition then human with the higher Civ score at the end of the game is declared the victor.
